Nile Egyptian International - Manarat Al Farouk School
Egyptian International Schools (NEIS) are Egyptian international schools founded by government funds. They started their activities in 2010 to provide international education at reduced annual fees compared to private international schools. The schools currently have 14 branches managed by the Egyptian Company for Educational Management , and supervised by the Nile International Certification Unit of the Ministry of Education in partnership with the British Cambridge International Examinations Authority , which provides technical support to the schools and accredits their certificates abroad, while the Ministry of Education is responsible for accrediting their certificates locally. These schools teach Egyptian curricula in Arabic and English according to international standards for different stages of education.
Implementing the system in the schools
On May 15, 2019, a cooperation protocol was signed between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and the Nile International Certificate Unit of the Education Development Fund affiliated with the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, regarding granting approval to implement the Nile International Education System in schools wishing to do so inside and outside the Republic, and which succeed in achieving the required standards.
Academic stages
• Kindergarten: Pre-KG - KG1 - KG2.
• Primary stage: First grade GR1 - Sixth grade.
• Preparatory stage: seventh grade - ninth grade.
• Secondary stage: tenth grade - twelfth grade.
The schools have their own curricula determined in agreement with the British University of Cambridge, and teaching is bilingual, with Arabic, religious education, and social studies taught in Arabic and the rest of the subjects in English. The curricula are reviewed by Egyptian and foreign consultants. Teachers in the schools are also qualified through a skills test, and if they pass it, they receive special training courses at the American University, and then they receive other courses 3 times a year from the University of Cambridg
